7 Mid-Century Modern Remodels with Tile

A timely take on the retro looks we love, there's a reason that Mid-Century Modern is such a popular interior design choice these days. From sleek lines and mixed textures to warm pops of color, our tile will fit perfectly into this theme for your next remodel. On this blog you will learn how to achieve this look with your tile choice and how to style your room to perfection.

Here are 7 Mid-Century Modern Remodels with Tile:

1. Natural-Hued Glaze Colors.

Mid-Century Modern remodel designs often use nature-inspired decor with plenty of natural woods. We like to use warm-hued glaze colors with high variation to mirror this style element. This picture only includes two out of the six tile installations in this client's home! 2. Punchy Geometric Diamond Kitchen.

One of our favorite elements of Mid-Century Modern remodel designs: the punchy bold colors. We think this kitchen got the palette right on. Rather than going overboard with color on this ceramic backsplash, they opted to add a contrasting paint color to the adjacent wall. This is a great example of how the styling of the rest of a room can serve to support and amplify the design of your tile installation.

3. Sleek Lines for the Win.

A couple of the most important elements to Mid-Century tile design are the sleek lines and strong geometric shapes. We've been swooning over the perfect simplicity of this subway tile partial kitchen backsplash. This no-fuss project uses minimal tile for those with a tight budget, but still makes a statement with a gorgeous color choice.

4. Matte & Shiny Black Moroccan Fish Scales.

This swanky New York gem not only mixes glaze textures, but accentuates the contrast with retro lighting. These minimal textural contrasts show sophistication and design chops. This glittering glaze mixture has been one of our favorites for years, and we don't think it's about to get old anytime soon.

5. Diamond Star Pattern Floor.

We adore modernizing classic interior tile floor designs like this Diamond Star Pattern. These neutral colors create a subtle style while utilizing a strong retro pattern. And speaking of retro, be sure to check out our Hexagon Flower Pattern sheets for an even more vintage feel.

6. Layered Materials & Pattern.

Mid-Century goes tropical for this tiled floor. They made this wood-working showroom come to life with their color palette and plenty of plants. Styled to a tee, the layered materials and patterns make this space a winner!  Mid-Century Green Floor Tile
