Gorgeous custom tile, your way! But how does it all work? We’re showing you a behind the design look of one of our favorite Custom Tile projects using Medium Moroccan Fish Scales. We worked with designer, Michelle Gage to create a gorgeous gradation of Moroccan Fish Scales in light blues to white for her kitchen. Keep reading to learn more about how we arrived to the design we all know and love!
Inspiration
When working with any client, we like to learn more about what inspires them. Sometimes, we work together to create a mood board to establish a desired look and sometimes the client will have this already! Here’s what our client had for her inspiration!
Design
Based on client inspiration and ideas, our in-house designers create tile mood boards. Here we showed the client three possible color directions. Custom design is ALWAYS a collaboration between our creative team and our clients.
Planning
It’s very important to measure your space correctly and ironing out measurements is key for us to draw the tile to scale. Our team is always happy to help you with this step!
Final Design
Next, we color in your final design to show the intended design outcome aiming to give a sense of what the tile will look like with grout. The design shown here is digital and can only serve as a representation. Actual results are based on real tile and even with that – there is variation. Our studio lighting will vary from the lighting in our client’s space.
Client Approval
Once our tile elves have finished making the tile, we have our layout artists layout the tile and glue it to mesh sheets that help to make installation a breeze! While it’s laid out, we take and send snapshots to the client to make sure they love it!
Installation
After we get client approval, the sheets are cut down and numbered – with an easy to follow installation map!
